THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN FIERAGRICOLA AND SIAM IS A SUCCESS THE AWARD FOR THE GREATEST NUMBER OF FOREIGN EXHIBITORS GOES TO THE “ITALY AREA”

Positive results for the Italian mission to the International Agricultural Trade Fair in Meknès. Sales have already begun

“The partnership between Verona's Fieragricola and Siam (International Agricultural Trade Fair) in Meknès, Morocco, was very successful and has helped strengthen commercial relations between the Italian exhibitors and the Moroccan agricultural system.”

This positive comment was made by the sales and marketing manager of Veronafiere, Diego Valsecchi, in light of the results achieved at Siam (18-23 April), which saw the participation of 65 foreign countries and a total attendance of over one million visitors at the 12th edition of the fair .

This was doubly satisfying for Fieragricola, called on to manage the 'Italy Area', which registered the presence of 44 exhibitors specialised in the fields of zootechnics, automation, vineyards and orchards, agrochemicals, seeds, green management, animal genetics, and equipment.

“This effort was also officially recognised, said Luciano Rizzi, Area Manager of Agriexpo & Technology for Veronafiere, “with the award for best international presence based on the number of participating exhibitors assigned by Prince Moulay Rachid, brother of King Muhammad VI, to the Italian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, Roberto Natali.'

Fieragricola's pervasive assistance activities in the phases preceding Siam, the official visits by Moroccan Minister of Agriculture Aziz Akhannouch, President of the African Union Alpha Condé, Ambassador Natali and the Italian Consul General in Morocco Alessandro Ferranti, together with delegations from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Gabon, Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia and a large number of farmers, thanks to Fieragricola and Siam's activities aimed at end users, gave results which lived up to expectations, promoting, in particular, the image of the Made in Italy brand in the high quality agriculture sector.

For many exhibitors, it was a mission to discover a new, growing marketplace which is considered to be the gateway to North and Central Africa. Besides the networking with dealers (some exhibiting companies were looking for local representatives), what was surprising was the immediate sale of numerous items of equipment exhibited at the fair in Meknès, confirming the vitality of Moroccan agriculture.

For the next edition, scheduled for the second half of April 2018, Fieragricola has asked Siam to endorse the further development of B2B meetings with all delegations from Africa and the Middle East, as well as the expansion of the exhibition space reserved for Italian companies in the 2018 edition.

The outcome of the mission to Morocco is also a positive premise for operators looking to increase inbound exhibitors to the 13th edition of Fieragricola, scheduled from January 31 to February 3, 2018. During its most recent edition, in 2016, Fieragricola registered a total of 132,000 visitors, 21,000 of whom were from abroad. In particular, more than 2,200 of the buyers and delegates who came to Verona were from Africa.
